My name is JoAnn and I am a marketer, designer and aspiring pop star. I am currently the Communications and Marketing Assistant at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Prior to joining the staff at LMCC, I assisted with publicity for NYC-based cultural organizations including The Moth, the International Center for Photography and Abrons Arts Center. I hold a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with a minor in Graphic Design from Ithaca College.
I was born in Silver Spring, MD at the ripe age of zero. I love reading Pride and Prejudice fanfiction, reimagining public spaces and roaming the streets on trash day in search of free furniture.
I am passionate in my intent for using my skills to create positive social impact. I'm especially interested in the intersection of socially engaged art, systems thinking and new media. I hope to further connect the public to activism, art and story through digital strategy and design.
